speaker 1: Hi. I'm Lizzie. Speaker 2: I'm Leah. Speaker 1: And we're editors here at realbeauty.com. We're here today to show you how to do some DIYs summer facials from the comfort of your own home. Summer can be a really tough time on your skin. You're out in the sun, you're wearing tons of sunscreen and you're enjoying a lot of outdoor activities. But all of that can add up to irritation, blemishes and even some fine lines. So we're gonna take some ingredients that you would find in your own kitchen and show you how to pamper your skin with one at home weekly facial that you can do just to get a little inner glow. Speaker 2: The facial we're gonna be doing right now is called the refresher. It's really good for dry skin as well as sensitive skin or even if you have rosacea. It's really exfoliating and is a good idea if you want to just bring back your natural glow. Speaker 1: So the first step is going to be, to create and exfoliating blend of oatmeal and yogurt. Now we, like to use natural yogur. Greek yogurt is great. You don't want to use a yogurt that has a lot of... or any fruits in it, or any extra sugar, you wanna use a very basic one. This oatmeal which is just classic oatmeal, just dry normal oats.. So you don't want like any raisins or speaker 2: sugary stuff or anything bad. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 2: You're gonna be mixing... half and half kind of mixture. So... I would just start with like dollop, or a big dollop I guess, two. You kinda want it to be mushy, so, I guess a little bit of a paste, it's not obviously gonna be really liquidy, especially since Greek yogurt has that thicker consistency. So it's kinda gonna become a mushy paste, is really ideally what you're looking for. Speaker 1: All right . So now that we have our paste, we're going to apply it to our lovely Sam. Sam is our model today. The important thing to remember when doing any at home facial is to start with a clean face. Remember the areas that need more attention. If you have a really, if you have, flakes around your cheeks, around your t-zone, that's where you might want to center the, the concentration of product. And what it's done, is that it has just exfoliated her skin cells a little bit. It's gotten any extra residue as we set off and she would wash this off in the sink right now. Speaker 2: There's no need to leave this on. It's really just exfoliating like we were saying... so whenever you're done, it's all over the face, you're just gonna wash it off, wash clothe works really well... it's easy. Speaker 1: So now that we have the mask cleaned off, it's time to do one last step at this facial and that involves taking your daily moisturizer, whatever it is, it shouldn't have, the one thing that you wanna make sure is that, you're not using your moisturizer that has SPF in it. Because those ingredients sometimes contract other ingredients you might add. So take your gentle daily moisturizer, just take one dollop of it and mix it with a dollop of honey. Honey has a lot of moisturizing benefits to it too doesn't it? So you're creating yet another DIY paste and this is going to be the last mask that you're gonna apply to your place. What it's gonna do is, it's gonna tighten your skin a little bit but give it that hydration that it needs after it's been through the process of being exfoliated and then tone so thoroughly with that lemon and that tomato. So you'll put this on and then let it sip for about 5 minutes before you're, before you're gonna rinse this off as well. Speaker 1: After 5 minutes has passed, it's time to take this last layer of the mask off of your skin and your skin should fell now, refreshed, hydrated, everything wonderful. If it doesn't, feel free, to put just a layer of your regular moisturizer on. No more honey. Speaker 2: All right. Well thank you for joining us. We'll be back with more DIY recipes.
