Fall Hair and Makeup Makeovers: Julie Video

Hey. I'm Andrea from Real Beauty, and I'm at Salon AKS in New York City doing fall hair makeovers. This is Julie. Hey, Julie.

Hi.

So let's talk hair, Julie. Tell me a little bit about like your hair past, your history.

There's pretty much nothing I haven't done with my hair.

Adventurous.

Yes. I actually have dyed my hair so much, I don't even know what the natural color is anymore.

You're [unknown] girls. Okay.

Yeah.

I have manic panicked it, I had put [unknown] in it, I have shaved my head.

Oh my God.

I know.

Yeah. I have done it all. I have really, really thick hair.

Ready for a color change and you'll go for shorter maybe?

Yeah. I mean, it's hair so it grows back, you know, if they wanna take it shorter, I trust their expertise again.

That's what I love to hear. Let's get you started with your makeover.

Hey, Julie. I'm Susana. I'm gonna be cutting your hair today. Tell me a little bit about your hair.

It's really thick and I've been braiding it out for a while but I'm sure you got that.

Well, the best way to do that is going out of those uneven haircuts, just making it sharper and more modern. So we're gonna get rid of the bottom here and we're gonna lighten this up so you get one looping in your hair. That's gonna be more extinguishing. Then I'm gonna turn you over to Kathleen, who's the master color, and she's gonna add some color to it.

I love your eyes. You have the brightest biggest eyes. I like the auburn that's happening underneath the undertone, but the highlight that you have on top of them are actually blending with your skin. So I like to stay with the auburn,

Uh-hmm.

but then also, instead of having the blond highlights, make them more of a golden copper.

Do this.

All right, Julie. You are our foxy redhead. Look at you.

I love it. I'm really, really psych on this color and cut.

This is a makeover.

It's a huge change for fall. It's exactly what I wanted and I was a little bit nervous when Susana said that she wanted to take so much length off.

Yeah.

But I think that it really makes sense, you know, I'm trying to grow my layers out, and so this is one way to kind of even some of those layers out. Get rid of some of the dead hair and really make a change.

Well, speaking of your layers, I'm spinning you around because they are so cool, they're pleasing. You've got tested texture back here. I'm kinda jealous and I love this vibrant red with this golden highlights. Your eyes look so well.

Yeah.

Looks like a rich good color for fall.

Yeah. It's super multi tone, most like dimensional, and I think it really adds a lot. I think it's one way that I'm gonna get noticed this fall.
