View all answersHi. I'm Deanne. I'm the Director of realbeauty.com and today I'm gonna show you how to create a Smoky Eye using Navy Blue Eyeshadow. As you can see I already have it done here. I'm gonna show you how to do it on this side. The first thing I'm gonna is I'm gonna use Laura Mercier's Crème Eyeshadow in Platinum. This stuff is awesome, because it goes on very smooth, it doesn't crease and it'll hold the rest of your shadow in place literally for hours. You have to be careful with using this so because a little goes a long way, so I say you use about 8th of an inch or just a couple of milliliters as it comes out. And you put a little bit on my brush just like this and I'm going to apply it just to the ledge. Do not go above the crease. And always using a little bit more, you start off small at this stuff the way you will nothing but a shimmery eye and you won't pick up any of the blue eyeshadow. Okay once you have this on, the next thing you're gonna do is you're gonna take your navy blue eyeshadow I like MAC [unknown]. It has a bit of a shimmer which will really make my blue eyes pop any navy blue will do though. Take my eyeshadow brush, pick up quite a bit of pigment and the important thing to do here is apply it first to your lash line and then move up towards the crease. You don't wanna actually fill in the entire eye. You wanna try to keep most of the color concentrated near your lash line. Again, you can pick up a little bit more color as you needed. And you wanna go about halfway up the lid. Okay, once you have it applied to the top, you take your same lash-- or your same brush and you apply just a little bit underneath. Okay. Now, I'm gonna take my Chanel Liquid Liner and I'm gonna create a thick black line on top of the shadow. Okay, after I've done that and then I'm gonna take any black coal eyeliner will do just need to be soft enough that you can rim the upper and lower inner lid. Sometimes you can, you know, use a small tug once you get really good, you won't need to do that at all. Okay. And after you've done that, last important step two coats of mascara. I like to start off the base and wiggle go up. And the last thing you wanna do is add a little bit of mascara in to your bottom lashes and all lot of people like going this way but for my lashes, I find that it clamped together so I gently wiggle, holding the brush this way and that's it. So I've got two navy blue smoky eyes to head out with. Thanks for watching realbeauty.com.
