View all answersHi. I'm Arianna and I'm going to show you how to create a smoky eye with purple eyeshadows. I don't like doing black and gray on myself because like I'm always heading into [unknown] and that's not good for anybody. So I love this MAC palette, has 4 nice colors. We have the beige and then we have the [unknown] depending on your eye shape. I also I'm not a fan of creating a double lid on Asian eyes, so I'm gonna show you a really good trick on how to smoke it out but not creating too much eyeshadow over your entire lid. So first we are going to start with gel liner, which I'm in love with. It has that nice intense black color without going everywhere. It's also water-resistant. It wouldn't necessarily be waterproof. I love this one from Shu Uemura. So you start by dipping the angled brush in your liner and the trick to doing this is just use small short strokes all the way down until you get a nice solid line. This is really good too because you can actually smudge the formula out if you made a mistake. It's really easy to clean up and like I said it's water-resistant so it won't budge. Not today. So after you have your liner down, you move on to your shadow. I love using a flat shadow brush at first from Yves, just dab one there, get a good amount on there and go over your lid. Depending on how you do your eyeshadow, I learn that it's better to keep your eye open for a part of it so that you can see what it'll look like and you're actually have your eyes open because that's whatever it's gonna be. No one's gonna see you when your eyes are shut. So after you have your base down, I take the middle color and we kind of go in a little bit. Just go around over the liner just a little bit. And I'm a big fan of using your fingers just for fun. So then you take your two middle colors and I like to bond the 2 together and just go right on the outside. You can go along the line too if you want, but if you jut poke lightly, you just hook the color in the outer part of your eye. You'll get a really nice intense smoky effect and then we'll take the dark color where I am going. A trick I've been using lately is taking the dark sparkly color from this palette which is Chanel's part of their Fall collection and taking this color and just dabbing it in for a little sparkle. The matte colors are matte so, we'll most of them are matte. So they're good for daytime but if you wanna add a little nighttime you can. After that you curl your lashes, and you add your mascara. And you're done.
