Hey. I'm Andrea from Real Beauty, and I'm going to teach you how I do a smokey eye that's appropriate for day or night, but it's a little bit more on the subtle side. Most of the time when you think smokey eye, you think really dark, really bold, but if you use subtle colors like plums and rose and taupes, you can create a look that you can wear to work or even during the daytime. So, I like to start with a primer. This is Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I put this on my lids before I put any shadow on. It helps the color last longer and it also gives like a nice canvas for the shadow to go on. Now I've been really into this Philosophy palette. It has basically all the colors I need to create like a great smokey eye, and I start with the lightest color. I put that all over my lid, up even to the eyebrows if you want. It's just like a base color. You can really see it. And then you take the second deepest color which in this case would be this like plumy purple. Okay, see that? And you brush it over just the lid, from the lash line to the crease. Okay. Then, you get into the dark color. Now this dark, shimmery plum color is gonna go in the crease. I like to start with this a little bit 'cause you could always build it up. You get it right in your crease and you blend like windshield wiper, which is probably not the best technique but that's what I do. And you can make it darker if you want it more dramatic, but since we're doing one that's good for day, better keep it kinda light, okay? Right in the crease. Next, you wanna use the liner color. Now technically, this greenish shade, it's like mossy color, is the liner. But I was getting a little crazy and mix the purple with the green. Purple and green. Use the liner brush, flat, and just right on your lash line. You can wing it out a little bit at night but again this is day, so don't go too nuts with that. And you can even wet it to get like a darker look. Then, sometimes I put on the bottom too, like I think I did earlier today. Don't forget, curl your lashes. Don't leave home without curling your lashes. Already did. And I applied two coats of mascara, any mascara will do, so it's L'Oreal Voluminous. And that's it. That's my daytime smokey eye.
