Stubble Trouble
Underarms
Nothing tops a shaving-foam-and-razor combo (look for aloe or shea-butter moisture strips) for navigating this ultrasensitive, uneven terrain in a pinch, but for smoothness that lasts for weeks, try preloaded wax strips, which rip away coarse armpit hair in one fell swoop. (Beware the afterburn if you dare to wear deodorant without waiting a day or two post-yank.) Got fair skin and dark hair? Repeated five-minute treatments with a gentle at-home laser can beat regrowth for goodat a fraction of doctor's-office prices.
Noxema SpaShaver 4-Blade Shaver, $4.99 for three.

Legs
To avoid unsightly razor burn, hydrate thirsty skin with a shave cream rich in essential oils, or forgo the blade altogether and use a shea-butter-infused depilating cream. New spray-on formulas mean hands stay clean, but apply more than you think you need to and stand on a towel to keep bathroom tiles slip-free. For a quick fix on the go, toss a mini electric shaver in your beach baggreat for showerless fuzz-bustingbut remember to lube up afterward (those metal teeth are moisture-killers).

Bikini line
Mimic a long-lasting pro wax at home with a microwavable kit, like Nair's Salon Divine, then tidy up remaining hair with a battery-powered trimmer designed for the area. For in-between maintenance, smooth down with a cream hair remover or a moisture-stripped razor - and yes, when it comes to eliminating pesky stubble, the more blades, the better.
Schick Quattro Trim Style razor and trimmer, $12.99.

Face
Wipe out facial fuzz and lady 'staches with a home threading kit, which can eliminate peachy wisps and coarser strands for up to four weeks without irritating sensitive skin. (Also works for minor brow touch-ups.) Afterward, level lingering strays with a small trimmer.
SunMaita Threading Kit, $150.

Ponying up now for hair-banishing accoutrements can save you (and your skin) from pain and annoyance all summer long. Stave off bumps with serums and wipes that contain exfoliating ingredients like salicylic acid. If an ingrown arises anyway, treat carefully with a pair of pointed tweezers. To quickly clean up small but irksome strays on toes or around the belly button, try mini wax squares. And don't be a martyr: Slather on a numbing agent 15 minutes before any potentially painful follicle-stripping.
Bliss Ingrown Eliminating Pads, $38.
