Snooki Chats About Her Perfume, Guys, and Drama

On the last season of The Jersey Shore, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi smushed Vinny, scored Jionni, and (sort of) broke The Situation's heart. So it got us thinking that perhaps our favorite party girl-meatball knows a thing or two about lookin' fine. Today, she launches her first-ever perfume on hsn.com, so we chatted her up about how she became a savvy business woman, her beauty style tips (after all, Jersey girls sure do love their big hair, wild nails, and bold makeup), and just how real the show's drama is.
Real Beauty: Tell us about your new fragrance.
Snooki: It smells bubble and sweet, just like my flirty personality. There are hints of kiwi, beach flower, and assorted woods, which has a Jersey Shore vibe. I was hands on in the lab mixing it, and I even joined the assembly line to box it up. I was playing in the boxes!"
RB: What about the packaging?
Snooki: I made it gaudy and tacky, because I love being gaudy and tacky. And we all know I adore animal print, but I chose to do it in pink and purple to stand out. The bar code is an image of me wearing a hair poof and sunglasses. I'm going do that on all of my products; it's different.
RB: Has your boyfriend, Jionni, sniffed it yet?
Snooki: I put it on and didn't tell him it was my own. When he smelled it, he was all over me. So I know it's going to be a boy-snatcher.
RB: Speaking of Jionni, how are things going?
Snooki: We're good! We just celebrated our one-year anniversary. I definitely see wedding bells in the future, but not anytime soon. I'm only 24.
RB: How have you built the Snooki empire?
Snooki: My goal is to be an entrepreneur. I have two books, an app, slippers, sunglasses, and now a perfume. I'm proud of myself. I know the show is not going to last forever, and I do believe like there will be spinoffs. But my brand is my number one priority.
RB: Where do you draw your confidence from?
Snooki: Just be yourself. Growing up, I was bullied in school. Now, anytime someone says something bad about me, I'm like, 'shut up, I'm over it.' I have that strong personality.
RB: You got into some tiffs with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino last season on The Jersey Shore. Will you ever be friends again?
Snooki: No, I don't like to be friends with fake people who just try to destroy you. But I love everybody else!
RB: Is the drama on the show real?
Snooki: I wish I could say it's fake because it's so ridiculous, but it's 100 percent real.

RB: Who picks out your outfit?
Snooki: I work with a stylist, but only for red carpet events. I do my own hair and makeup. My wedges today are from Solestruckthey have amazing shoes, and my jewelry is from Forever 21 and Wet Seal. I'm not high-maintenance, even though I make good money. I struggled my whole life.
RB: What kind of fake eyelashes do you wear?
Snooki: I got semi-permanent ones in LA, but they made my eyes itch. So I use strips that I get from Mac Cosmetics or CVS. I'm coming out with my own ones soon! It's difficult to put them on with long nails, so I don't recommend that. This morning, it took me 15 minutes. It just wasn't an eyelash day. You need to be patient.
RB: Where do you get your nails done?
Snooki: Every three weeks I go to Nail Show in East Hanover, N.J. It's my favorite salon. It's quiet and small, and they do an amazing job. I am taking all of the original designs I get done and turning them into nail stickers, which I will sell.
RB: What are your favorite beauty products?
Snooki: Mac Cosmetics everythingbronzer, concealer, blush, etc.
RB: Tell us about your red hair streaks?
Snooki: They are Great Lengths 100 Percent Natural Human Hair Extensions. I don't really need them, I just do it for the color. I killed my hair dying it.
RB: First the poof, then the bow: What hair trend can we expect you to rock next?
Snooki: Lately, I've been wearing beanie hats and fedoras for fall and winter.
RB: What is your tanning regime?
Snooki: I don't use self-tanner, and I only go tanning once every three months. I'm naturally tan and retain the color. I have three tanning lotions coming out: a self-tanner, a tingle cream for experienced tanners [to be used in tanning beds], and a moisturizer to make sure you're not, like, dead-looking.
RB: Do you have any other beauty secrets?
Snooki: It's weird: When I moisturize my face or use masks, I get pimples. I don't get it. So I just take my makeup off with Mac Cosmetics wipes, and I use regular soap.
RB: Who is your beauty inspiration?
Snooki: Beyoncé, because she always looks gorgeous.
RB: How do you stay in shape?
Snooki: It's hard to work out because I'm so busy, so I just eat healthy. I drink lots of green tea (green tea lattes from Starbucks are amazing!) because it flushes you out. I have a strict diet, I only eat sweet potatoes, spinach, broccoli, and grilled chicken. I usually don't have breakfast, because I wake up late. But if I do, it will be egg whites and veggies.
RB: Do you ever indulge?
Snooki: On Sundays, I will have a couple of chips. But then I feel really guilty, so I try not to.
RB: What about those big family pasta dinners you have on the show?
Snooki: The boys eat it all! Ron eats most of it.
