Daphne's beauty stats: 40s; medium/thick wavy hair; dry skin

"I am so excited about a book I recently read that has changed what I eat, The Schwarzbein Principle, by Dr. Diana Schwarzbein. This is my favorite new guide to physical and emotional wellness. I now eat more protein and fats. My breakfast consists of two poached eggs with avocado and/or cheese. Lunch is eggs (the whole egg) or fish. (Not tuna. I got mercury poisoning from tuna four years ago; I'm now detoxed.) I tend to eat a lot of white fish, cheese, nuts, veggies, cottage cheese, fruit, salad, and lots of organic oil, and I crave carbs less. I have noticed my skin, hair, energy, and mood are much, much better!"

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist

"I travel a lot — airplanes, different time zones, and weather can wreak havoc on my skin. So I always have Jurlique's rose or lavender water spray on the plane with me.

Dr. Hauschka Products

I also only use all-natural products on my skin, like Dr. Hauschka skin-care products. I recently learned that Dr. Hauschka's products are not only made from organically grown plants but are also biodynamically grown — which I don't totally understand, but it has to do with the botanical balance and wholeness of nature. Dr. Hauschka Skin Care is based on the fact that the skin knows what to do; it helps heal the system from the often stressful lifestyles we live."

ARCONA Toner

"The other little-known skin secret I just discovered is ARCONA, also all natural, out of Los Angeles. They don't make creams, only serums of antioxidants and enzymes that repair and nourish skin without any unnatural ingredients. It feels so good knowing that what I put on my skin is helping to nourish it. And the cranberry toner smells sooooo good!"

Vitamins and Supplements

"Vitamins...love them. Oils are also so important, like omega-3 fatty acids. I also take antioxidants, green tea, joint therapy, and Trifala capsules to keep my body looking and feeling good from the inside out. I also swear by astragalus — ask anyone I know if I ever get sick, even while crew and cast members are dropping around me. Not an easy name, but easy to find, and not expensive. Health-food stores carry it in the vitamin department. It is an immune supporter. I promise you: Four capsules a day (six if you feel like you're getting sick) and you will stay well!"

Meditation

"Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. When I just sit and silently notice my breath go in and out, my mind quiets. I notice that peace comes, self-love grows, fear fades. And when I am fearless, love takes its place. When I feel this, it shows."

Avoid Botox

"No Botox. Tried it. Whatever. Maybe I'll change my tune, but for now, I'm good without the neurotoxin injections mere centimeters from my brain. After getting a few injections, I did a little research and according to Wikipedia  'botulinum toxin is a medication and a neurotoxin protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and is held to be the most toxic substance known to mankind.' I'm just saying."

Embrace Your Inner Beauty

"Speak your truth (mostly) and believe in yourself. If I could have my wish, women would stop putting themselves down. We would know our beauty, worth, and strength, and the value of our creativity and insight. We would stop obsessing over handbags and other women's thighs, and start singing to our own inner music, and offering it to the world."
