Meet the Bloggers: New on the Shelves

Andrea Lavinthal has been a beauty editor for almost a decade, but her obsession with makeup and hair products can be traced back to when her mother first took her to the magical place known as the Health and Beauty Aids aisle of the supermarket. Andrea joined the beauty department at Cosmopolitan magazine in 2001, the world’s largest women’s magazine with a readership of 3.1 million women. She then became the Content Editor for Cosmo Radio on Sirius XM where she co-hosted a weekly show covering beauty, fashion, and lifestyle topics.

Currently as the Senior Beauty Editor for RealBeauty.com and Cosmopolitan.com, Andrea reports on the latest trends and products, in addition to offering expert tips on everything from mastering the perfect at-home blowout to creating a believable faux glow.

Ariana Finlayson is the Associate Editor of RealBeauty.com. Her beauty obsession dates back to her first college internship at CosmoGirl Magazine where she got to play all day in the massive Sephora-like beauty closet. Being surrounded by every product imaginable does something to a girl and thus, a beauty fiend was born.

But beauty just isn’t about love of the products. "I love that having a great hair day will make a woman feel like a hundred bucks, and that putting on mascara, eyeliner and a smudge of lip color are all you need to feel pretty."

Before joining RealBeauty.com, she was a contributing Web Assistant at Hearst Digital Media where she helped with TheDailyGreen.com, MarieClaire.com, and CosmoGirl.com.

When she’s not busy trying to get turquoise cream eye shadow to work, she’s running at the gym to her favorite tunes. Her favorite beauty quote is from Anna Wintour when she asked by David Letterman, “What do you do when your shopping budget gets slashed from $100 to $20?” Anna responds, "You go out and buy a fabulous lipstick."
