How to Get Flawless Skin in Winter

As we walked to work today in the 6 degree weather (seriously) the last thing we were thinking about was our face. That was until we made it to our office, looked in the mirror, and were shocked at the abuse our skin had taken in just our 20-minute commute.
Chances are unless you live on a sunny island with coconut trees (in that case, we hate you), your skin is in serious crisis mode with this blustery winter weather. Try these tips from Dr. Mitchell Chasin, Medical Director at the Reflections Center for Skin and Body, to keep your skin in tact through spring.
Pick a body wash for the season. Make sure your body wash isn't going to dry out your skin. Opt for a soap-free, ultra hydrating formula. Now would also be a good time to trade in gel body washes for creamy ones.
Exfoliate with oil-based scrubs. Exfoliation shouldn't equate to dry skin. By finding face and body scrubs enriched with oil, you are not only cleaning your skin, you're keeping it hydrated too.
Sort through your skin care routine. Using too many products together (like face masks and exfoliators) can wind up irritating your skin. If you have to, label your products with designated days so that you don't overlap treatments. And make sure your products aren't expired.
Don't forget your hands. Your hands can show signs of aging just as much as any other part of your body. Indulge in a new hand moisturizer to keep in your bag, car, or office. The more you moisturize your hands, the easier it is to prevent dry, cracked skin.
