This morning I got up and went to the polling place around the corner from my house to find a large chunk of my Brooklyn neighborhood waiting in line to cast their vote. Although it was totally hectic and we ended up waiting for almost two hours, the mood in the air was not that of annoyance, but excitement. I love the way voting makes me feel and the pride I get for fulfilling one of our greatest civil duties. This energy has lingered on into my day and is now turning into nervous anticipation for tonight's results. Where will you be watching?

I will say, the only thing missing from this morning's ballot casting was the "I Voted" sticker I was hoping to receive after. The volunteer who helped me slide my sheet into the trusty (fingers crossed) counting machine said I wasn't the only one disappointed that they didn't have the honorary badges to give out. So my roommate and I decided the next best thing would be to take a photo outside after we voted...with a friendly member of the NYPD.
