Go Behind-the-Scenes at Tocca

I got to go backstage at the Tocca show to find out the hair and makeup experts opinions' on beauty tricks and upcoming trends for the spring 2013 season.
Make-up wise, the favored product was the Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Highlighters, perfect for an easy beauty fix (trust me, I got to try some out myself!). Another plus, is that it creates a genuine shimmer, not a cake-y glitter look. You can just sweep it under your eyes and immediately you'll look more vibrant.
For hair, it was a messy-elegance with each model wearing a pulled-back chignon at the crown of her head. The hair stylist, Kevin, said the look resembled a ballerina in hard-training for the last few hours. It's perfect because it's easy to master (simply pull your hair back and twist it up), but if it gets messed up it'll just add to your effortless style.
Both pros agreed that their favorite part of fashion week was the hectic nature and being part of the creative process from beginning to end. The less favored aspects were minor in comparison, simply the difficult of transportation (the city gets quite packed for fashion week) and the "crunch-time" right before the show starts. Which was right when I was there!
But it all payed off, and the show went off great! It gave off a fashionable-business vibe with fitted blazers and tight pencil skirts. Many styles featured lace cut-outs and the classic black-and-white contrast. There were pops of color, particularly royal blue and yellow. The makeup was simple with matte, neutral shades paired with bold off-red lips. Everything was held together with a dignified business look. Made me want to get to the office!
