Teen Mom Maci's Streaky Tan

Last night's season finale of Teen Mom was an emotional roller coaster. There were highs (Tyler and Catelynn are reunited with baby Carly!) and there were some lows (Amber's new Wal-Mart boyfriend and poor Gary back on his friend's couch). But what tugged at my heartstrings the most was poor, recently dumped Maci Bookout who is sticking it out in Nashville even though her boyfriend Kyle jumped ship from adulthood overload.
Watching Maci stay put, battle with Ryan over custody, and still have time to use self-tanner made my heart swell with pride. For there is no better example a mother can show their child than staying away from the booth...the tanning booth, that is.
Though she is exercising safe sun practices, her application technique could use some work. Those wrists! You'd think the girl got her hand stuck in a tube of her favorite sunless tanner and panicked. We're sure it's hard to find time to tan properly with Bentley bopping around, but the next time he is napping we urge Maci (and you!) to do the following:
Before applying, exfoliate with a washcloth or body scrub (we like Freeman Feeling Beautiful Scrubs, $4 each, drugstore.com).
Hydrate! Self tanner goes on more evenly when skin is hydrated use a body lotion prior to applying your self tanner.
To avoid streaks rub a small layer of Vaseline over knees, elbows, and wrists to get a more even glow.
