Makeup Tricks Fit for the Red Carpet
'Tis the season for Globes, Oscars, SAGs, and we're sure there's a Teen Choice Surfboard somewhere in the mix as well. That's right, awards season is here! Stars like Sofia Vergara, pictured left and sporting amazingly long lashes started celebrating a little early at the co-hosted Audi and J. Mendel Golden Globes Kick Off Celebration this past weekend.
To kick off our own season celebration, we're giving you tips from one of the red carpet pros, Bruce Grayson. He was the master behind the 2010 Oscars and shares some of his favorite get ready tips for a big night out.
Detox your skin. In the weeks and days leading up to a big event, drink plenty of water, avoid salty foods, and reduce your caffeine intake to get a flawless face that's not dull or bloated.
Go for fresh and dewy, not full coverage. It's tempting to slather foundation all over your face, especially for a long event like a wedding. Instead, Grayson suggests using a sheer, buildable base and a cream blush. "These formulas are transparent so your skin shows through, creating a more radiant effect than powders."
Have some gloss handy. It doesn't matter if you're wearing a red lip or a nude one, make sure you always have some gloss on you for a quick swipe. "Not only will your lips feel more hydrated, but they'll reflect the light and appear fuller," says Grayson. His pick is MAC Clear Lipglass.
