Introducing VPL's Hilarious Hank Chen
We've been raving all week about our brand new YouTube show, VPL, (yes, it stands for Visible Panty Lines), but now it's time for you to get know the hosts.
First up is the wonderful Hank Chen. His professional bio is listed below, but here's all you need to know: We wouldn't trust any old guy to join our RB fam, and the dude does not disappoint.
Hank Chen is a New York actor, writer, and comedian who hails from the suburbs of Washington D.C. where he began performing stand-up at the age of sixteen. He honed his comedy chops training at The Second City in Chicago as well as The PIT and UCB in New York. Dramatically trained, Hank attended The Actor's Studio Drama School MFA Program at Pace University and has landed roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Blue Bloods.
In the fall of 2011, he performed Off-Broadway in Ten Years Later at Playwrights Horizons in conjunction with Project Girl Performance Collective commemorating the decade anniversary of September 11th. He has also appeared in several commercials and currently hosting a national social media campaign for Verizon.
Hank is a proud advocate of GLBT rights and sits on the board of OneWheaton, a young organization he co-founded that made national headlines in 2011 for reaching out to support gay students on conservative Christian college campuses. The group is currently the subject of a documentary in development called Let Your Light Shine.
On any given Sunday you can find Hank walking his one-eared black labrador, Eli, through Prospect Park in Brooklyn. He is often spotted muttering to himself like a crazy-person because he's running jokes and memorizing lines.
