Rachel Roys Fashion Week Survival Tips

Preparing for Fashion Week and going through the actual events can be draining, so I make sure to follow these guidelines. Here are the things I always need to survive it!
I always travel with band-aids (for blisters), Bobbi Brown concealer, and someone to keep me on schedule.
I try to eat decent meals (Sour Patch kids are not a food group), and I wish there were about 30 hours in a day.
Music puts me in the right frame of mind for whatever Im doing. When Im working late nights and need inspiration, I listen to Gary Clark Junior, Jay-Z and musical compositions from John Williams.
Since I am usually on a sugar and caffeine rush for the two weeks leading up to Fashion Week, I know I need to drink lots and lots of water. I always have to remind myself to stay hydrated. My new trick is to keep a glass decanter filled with fresh, cold water and lemons.
I try to practice yoga two to three times a week leading up to Fashion Week. The meditation helps me stay centered. -I love to light candles. The comfort and soft flicker of candlelight from a Jo Malone candle is a must while I work.
Friends are essentials. While I cant make any plans during Fashion Week, they provide a good balance to my life, and I look forward to when I can spend time with them after the show.
I always need a head rub. They are essential for keeping me centered and balanced.
Laughter can cure any stressful moment I encounter during Fashion Week.
In the end, I try to stay balanced and energized by enjoying the fact that Im working on what I truly love.
