Prabal Gurung Goes Haunted Ethereal

Backstage at Prabal Gurung was kind of like being in another universe. In what looked like an underground tunnel, the models, photographers, hair, and makeup team were set up feverishly putting their looks together.
The hair style was natural, which you think would be easy, but it does take some extra effort. As the hair team explained, you have to use some product to protect natural hair from humidity (it wax extra sticky on this hectic Saturday morning) and from the chemicals that tend to permeate New York City.
As for makeup, the look was titled "haunted ethereal." If you're scratching your head, no worries, I was too, but I got an in-depth explanation on how this new vocab fits into the style of the show. Only concelears and moisturizers were used to uphold the clean look, but to create the haunted glow, cream shadows were used to contour underneath the cheekbones and along the jaw line. Something that showed up on the models that could be popular next spring is a leaning towards paler skin tones.
If you're all crisped from the summer sun, then rest up and nourish your skin, because it looks like a natural, healthy glow is where next spring's style is going.
