Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2011: The Hair Secret Backstage at Ports 1961
Backstage at Ports 1961 hairstylist genius Orlando Pita told me something that literally knocked my ponytail down a notch frizz is good. What? How? I just got a keratin treatment, now what?!
OK, deep breaths. Pita explained that a new trend is rising to embrace your flyaways (your frizz too) and working with it, rather than using heavy silicone products to slick and weigh your hair down. "The look is desert glamour. It's a dryer texture and on the frizzy side," he said. So no, you might not want to stick your finger in an electric outlet to get this look but Pita says it is perfectly fine to have a few frizzies to add to your hair's natural volume.
To get this look, try using Orlando Pita + T3 Elevate Volume Spray and set with a curling iron. Brush it out, tease it a little (bonus points for backcombing) and boom! Beautiful, voluminous hair that will bounce for miles. The best part about the style is that it has body, but is pushed back from the face, so you won't have to result to tucking your hair behind your ears every five minutes.
If you want to steal this gorgeous glow, watch the video below to recreate the look and find out the secret to applying mascara on your lower lashes sans clumps.
