Trend Alert: Wine-Stained Lips at Pamella Roland

Red lips have always been a staple, but lately backstage we've been noticing a shift from the cherry hues to deeper, darker colors. From the merlot lips at Lela Rose to the deep burgundy ones at Rebecca Taylor, fall will definitely be the season of the wine-stained lip.
Our thoughts were reinforced backstage at Pamella Roland, where Laura Mercier makeup artist Matin showed off the Satin Lip Colour in Sangria (which he says works for virtually every skin tone) he paired with the Laura Mercier Lip Stain in Scarlet on top to get a modern spin on China doll inspired look.
If you're a little shy of such a dark color, Matin recommends dabbing your finger on the lipstick and lightly dabbing lips, giving them a slight, lighter stain. What do you think about this up-and-coming lip trend? Let us know by taking the poll below.
