Get the Look: Ombre Hair

Have you noticed a plethora of celebs that look like they need their roots touched up big time? Believe it or not, this style is one of fall's biggest hair trends, and it's called ombre. Ombre hair is when you have a darker root that gently fades into a variety of blonde shades, getting lighter at the ends. This season alone, we've seen it on Drew Barrymore, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Rachel Bilson, and of course, Lauren Conrad.
This style is perfect for those who want to go longer between coloring appointments (not to mention saving a boatload of cash). But even if you don't color your hair, you can still achieve this look with extensions.
"Ombre extensions look super natural as they thin out near the end, as natural hair does," says Jessica Gillin of the Marie Robinson Salon in New York City. Gillin uses blonde extensions that peek out on the bottom of your hair, rather than one long piece that is the same tone from root to end and can often look artificial.
What do you think of the ombre hair trend? Is it something you would try or are you not a fan of having such dark roots? Tell us your thoughts below!
