Olay Loves Moms & Daughters
There's little sweeter than hanging out with a mother-daughter pair who adore each other, have fun, and laugh a lot. We went behind-the-scenes at Olay's upcoming Like Mom, Like Daughter campaign while the women got treated to beauty treatments and prepped for shooting the ads (to be released around Mother's Day).
Jeannine Stringer, 44, and Sheila Orange, 65, from Arkansas.
"The best beauty tip my mom ever gave me was in junior high when she said, 'Less is more.' That was the '80s, with big hair, and blue eyeshadow," Jeannie admitted to us.
"That was the first and last time she listened to me! And what did I learn from my daughter? As a teen, she'd put her eyeliner in the flame of a cigarette lighter [to soften the tip]. Now, I lick mine!"
The pair still hasn't stopped influencing each other's beauty routine. Jeannine told us she "really respects" the way her mother uses moisturizer and they ritually include a mani/pedi appointment in the annual two-week vacation Sheila spends at her daughter's. "The only time I do it is with mom!"
Elisa Crill, 27, and Kathleen Fort, 50, from Virginia.
"I've never been into makeup like my girls. I rely on them for advice! Now that we live far away, I'll take pictures of clothes and send them to her before buying," mom Kathleen said. Fashion-aside, the pair spoke truthfully about what beauty means to them.
"She's always emphasized to be beautiful inside first," Elisa said. "You can be a pretty face, but if you don't have anything inside..."
"It doesn't matter."
"Be true to yourself, be good to people. As long as you do right, good things will come your way."
"It's about being genuine." Seems like someone raised a daughter they can be proud of.
