The Über-Pixie

Even though the new series V just started, and I personally can't afford to dedicate myself to yet another show, I knew the first time I watched the introductory commercial I'd have to watch for one reason Morena Baccarin's adorable pixie cut.
Baccarin, who plays Anna, the High Commander and Queen Bee alien, is not only absolutely gorgeous (if this is what all aliens look like, where do I sign up?), she also has the most trendy, chic, and shortest pixie cut I have ever seen.
I've always had a thing for short hair, and in my spare time I often try to convince my hairstylist to give me the shortest and latest Rihanna-inspired haircut, but often to no avail. It isn't because my hairdresser is ignoring my demands; it's because she knows this type of cut is not for everyone.
If you are blessed with an exceptionally thin face and beautiful jaw structure like Anna's and want this galactic pixie cut, you have to be brutally honest with yourself before pursuing it with a stylist. If you have pet names for the different sections of your hair, this cut is not for you. If you have invested in life insurance for your hair, this cut is also not for you. But if you are looking for a fun, edgy, and trendy new style, I say go for it! Celebrities from Halle Berry to Demi Moore in G.I. Jane have proven for years that short hair is definitely sexy.
If you're not quite ready to take the pixie-cut plunge, try one of these hairstyles first, to make the transition to shorter hair.
