Macys.com Knows Your Jean Size

Shopping online is convenient, yeah, but a bit risky. Unless you've worn a brand before (and even then) there's no real substitute for actually trying something on to make sure it's the right fit for your bod. Starting today, Macy's is partnering with True Fit to provide technology that'll help customers decide on the best size (the program is launching first in their Denim Finder and will expand progressively).
The algorithms are derived by quizzes about what's in the customer's current closet and fits them, a body description, and basic info (put away that tape measurerno numbers required!). In the end, numbers are punched to recommend a specific size and pieces that are most likely to fit. In a world where things seem to always run large or small, it sounds like a genius idea. If, that is, you can handle the indignity of a computer suggesting you might actually be a few sizes above what you like to tell yourself.
