Laura Harring's Au Naturel Fresh Face

4/5/2010 3:18:00 PM by Colleen Moody

laura harring

If I were in a locked room with Laura Harring, who played Chuck Bass's maybe yes, maybe no mother on Gossip Girl these past few weeks I would have some choice words for her. Things like, "Why are you making Chuck sad?" and "Why do you love that gross, scruffy monster Jack Bass?" and even perhaps, "What is this random accent you speak with?" But these questions are neither here nor there, as we remind ourselves Harring is just an actress, and not a manipulative Upper East Sider.

Before attending Star Magazine's Young Hollywood Issue Launch Party, Harring put her face in the hands of Juliana Landis, celebrity makeup artist. Both Harring and Landis know that when you reach a certain age, it's time to put the electric blue eyeliner down. Here are some of the products Landis used to get this natural, fresh look on Harring:

To prep, Landis used Makeup Forever's Full Coverage Concealer to camouflage under eye circles and Makeup Forever's HD Foundation as a base layer for applying makeup on top. To give her complexion a boost, she applied Paula Dorf Pressed Powder Bronzer on her nose, cheekbones, and forehead.

When it came to Harring's eyes, Landis applied a primer before sweeping a light bone color from the lash line to the brow bone and a mauve color all over her lids to the crease and to give the eyes a little natural glamour. Last, she applied a dark bronze color in the crease for a dramatic lift. Since Harring has little wrinkles, Landis applied a shimmer on her mature skin and blended everything together avoiding the brow bone with MAC Eye Shadow in Gleam. On the brow bone Landis highlighted the eye with MAC Eye Shadow in Yogurt and finally finished the eye with L'Oréal Luminous Mascara (a winner in our Ultimate Mascara Challenge!). On the apples of Harring's cheeks Landis applied Paula Dorf's Passion Cheek Color and with her fingers lightly applied Nars The Multiple in Luxor above cheekbones and on the bridge of the nose. To finish off the look, Landis applied MAC Lip Liner in Creamola and Laura's very own Bourjois Lipstick.
