Kim Kardashian's Smoky Eye

12/14/2009 12:35:00 PM by Colleen Moody

kim kardashian

The Kardashian family came back into our living rooms last night for yet another season. Some things were different, like newlyweds Khloe and Lamar and some things were the same, like everyone hating Kourtney's boyfriend and baby's daddy Scott. Words were yelled, disapproving stares were thrown about and there to oversee it all was Kimmy K, Queen of the Smoky Eye.

Kim has had a knack for makeup since she first came onto our celebrity radar, and has quickly become one of our favorite celebrities to gush about on the red carpet. One of her most stunning features is her smoky eyes. They create a sultry look that instantly upgrades your wardrobe for both day and night.

Celebrity makeup artist Christopher Drummond has worked with celebrities from Jennifer Lopez to Brooke Shields and shared his tips with us on how to get a perfect smoky eye look:

Step 1: Start with a beige shadow base all over the entire lid.

Step 2: Take a gold shadow, and apply it 3/4 of the way up, not quite all the way up to the brow. Leave some space between where you stop and the brow.

Step 3: Apply a blue/grey shadow from the crease (middle) of the eye to the base of the lashes. Be sure to blend it well, back and forth. This helps the product adhere, and stay on longer.

Step 4: On the outer corner of the lid, blend in a purple eye shadow to give some extra sizzle. Blend well.

Step 5: Finally, use a black liner to line the base of the lashes. Follow with mascara.

Smoky eyes aren't just for brown eyed beauties though! Check out how to get a stunning smoky eye look for blue eyes.
