The reigning reality queen, Kim Kardashian, got some doctor-delivered news on Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians—a new disease diagnosis. Far from being life-threatening, she has psoriasis like mom Kris (it's thought to be genetic). The condition, more common than you might think, affects approximately 7.5 million Americans. So, what is it?

Non-contagious (don't worry Mr. Humphries!), it's an autoimmune disease that shows up on the skin as red, raised patches. A buildup of dead skin cells can also make areas appear scaly. Like rosacea and eczema, doc aren't entirely sure what causes it, but stress can trigger outbreaks. See tricks for handling annoyances here.
