Beauty Q&A with Kim Kardashian
Even if you don't DVR Keeping Up with the Kardashians, it's sort of impossible not to know all about Kim Kardashian. Between her jaw-dropping curves, trendsetting red carpet ensembles, and NFL boyfriend, shes always making news. She also writes an amazingly entertaining blog thats packed with photos, style tips, and updates on her crazy-fun life. RealBeauty recently met with the voluptuous star to get the scoop on the debut of her signature scent, the va-va-voom advertisement, and her favorite makeup tips.

Congratulations on your first fragrance! It seems like it was a long time coming. What was the process like?
"It took two years to create the fragrance and I smelled about 65 versions until we got it right. My favorites notes are jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia. I learned so much about what it takes to develop a scent, and the end result is the perfect extension of my own personal style. It's sexy and sultry, but you can still wear it during the day. I also helped design the bottle. There are so many square and rectangular-shaped ones out there, and I wanted something curvy and feminine."

We're used to seeing you with glossy nude lips, but in the advertisements for the fragrance you have deep red lips. What was the inspiration behind the look?
"I wanted something different, really high fashion, like a classic perfume ad. I was blond when we shot the ad, and my team told me that the makeup would only work if my hair was dark, so that's when I went back to brunette."

What's the best makeup tip you've picked up from a pro?
"My makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, taught me that after you put on concealer, set it with translucent powder on top to prevent caking and make it last longer. He also taught me a lot about my face. For example, my upper lip is a bit thinner than my lower one, so Mario showed me how to use liner and gloss to even them out. "
Your skin is insanely flawless. Do you ever break out?
"Yes, and when I do I try to drink a lot of water and use all my creams. Mario is also really good at covering everything up!"
Are you going to stay brunette?
"Probably. I liked the blond a lot but it was really high maintenance. However, summer is coming soon so you never know."
Kim Kardashian, the fragrance, is sold exclusively at Sephora. It retails for between $16 and $65.
