Katie Holmes's Birthday Glow

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were bopping around New York City this weekend for a very special occasion her 32nd birthday. And though the paparazzi caught them coming right out of dinner (weird, we never see any cameras when we go to dollar margarita night on our birthday), we have to say we were a little glad for the snapshot. Holmes turned 32 but had gorgeous, clear skin that makes her look like she isn't a day over 25. Having radiant skin, especially in the frigid winter is a daunting task, but this birthday girl (and her hubby for that matter), pull it off effortlessly.
To get a flawless face of your own this season, try these cold-weathered tips from Ole Henriksen:
Watch your water temperature when taking a shower. Warm water is fine, but anything too hot will dry your skin out.
Avoid body brushes, especially those with sharp bristles as they have a tendency to strip your skin of its natural oils. Instead, use a scrub like Ole Henriksen Rub 'N Buff Salt Scrub to exfoliate gently.
For an added boost of moisture, apply a thin layer of body oil to skin after showering and before you put on any moisturizer. See what you should be looking for in a moisturizer here.
Fatty acids are your friends. Oils like sunflower seed, grape seed, black currant, hazelnut, avocado, sesame, almond and wheat germ all have a high content of essential fatty acids and are known for their ability to comfort, soothe and protect skin. Fats do not freeze in cold weather, unlike water and water based extracts, so they help to maintain a velvety skin texture while also preventing capillary breakage.
