This week's CMA Awards had us on the edge of our couches (wine in hand, country music would want it that way). Who would Taylor Swift sing about? How many times would Carrie Underwood change her outfit? Who keeps styling Katherine Heigl's hair in that weird bouffant? And of course, when in hells bells did Gwyneth Paltrow become a country singer?

Though we really were not crazy about Katherine Heigl's hair, especially since that beauty fail has already seen the red carpet one too many times, we were loving her take on the smoky eye using icy blue shadows. Angela Levin, CHANEL celebrity makeup artist created Heigl's look and explains it below:

"On Katherine's eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Kaska Beige, using all four colors in the compact, and a bit of the smoky blue shadow from CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Bleu-Tendre. I sculpted her brows with CHANEL Precision Brow Definer in Blond Clair. On her lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Cashmere, topped with CHANEL Glossimer in Pleasing. Finally, I applied three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir for a dramatic effect."

One thing we'll be taking away from these tips this weekend - using all the colors in our four-shaded palettes, as long as they are neutrals. We admit, we usually pick one or two favorite shades and neglect the others but this look makes us want to experiment with the whole compact.
