Katherine Heigl's Bad Bouffant

Well, well, what do we have here? It looks like the celebrities have been stepping outside of their hair boundaries this week, for better or for worse. Katherine Heigl showed up at the Europe premiere for her latest film, Killers, sporting a very '60s, lunch-lady-inspired bouffant.
Don't get us wrong, we love a good 'do with lots of volume, but this one has us raising our eyebrows. A bouffant, when done correctly, can make a great updo; however, the down bouffant well, you don't really see that much anymore.
It's pretty hard to make Heigl look bad she proved to the world this week that she makes a pretty darn good blonde and an even better brunette, but this hairstyle isn't doing the actress much justice. Too much height, too much hair spray, and too much like Peggy Bundy minus the bangs (we thank the hair heavens the bangs were left out).
If you want a style with lots of volume, the trick is to pump it up right after you get out of the shower. Greasy hair won't hold to product as well, causing hair to fall flat by midday. Try a root lifter on damp hair and dry fully with your favorite dryer. For added lift, comb hair back at the crown and top off with a firm-holding hair spray. This will give you natural-looking volume without making it look like your ensemble requires a hair net.
What do you think of Heigl's hair? Are we being too harsh, or is the bouffant a little much?
