The lovely Kate Walsh is back at work on the set of Private Practice in Los Angeles this week after a summer of traveling the globe. Her escapades included a trip to Belize where she swam with sea turtles and sharks (yes, she's beautiful and brave!), and most importantly raised awareness about the destruction of the Belize Barrier Reef. Did you know that it is the second largest coral reef in the world? In between her travels and her return to work (and farewell to chips and guacamole) the titian-haired star and I had a quick chat about her fragrance, Billionaire Boyfriend, and a few of her favorite things.

Kate had her hands in every step of the process in creating the most recent addition to her Boyfriend fragrance line from selecting the Oriental-floral notes to designing the retro-glam bottle. The result: a luxe (obviously!) perfume with rich tones that conjure up images of yachts, diamonds, sports cars, and the finer things in life. But as Kate says, you don't have to have a billionaire boyfriend to spoil yourself—this scent is proof!

Despite Kate's decadent fragrance, her own lifestyle has a very laid-back California cool vibe. When she wasn't traveling this summer, you could've found her in cut-off jean shorts and her favorite espadrilles enjoying a muddled cocktail at one of LA's many adorable restaurants (see her fave below), hiking around the Silverlake Reservoir with her two rescue dogs Lucy and Rosie, or just enjoying the outdoors. After living in Los Angeles for over fifteen years, it's no wonder one of Kate's favorite things to do is soak in the sun (always protected with sunscreen of course).
