Kate Hudson's Braided Met Ball Updo
The day after the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2010 Costume Institute Ball always has us oohing and ahhing at our desk come lunchtime. We love seeing the dresses, the makeup, and of course the hair. Lucky for us, we don't have to decide the best dressed, an impossible feat (though some were questionable, cough cough Katy Perry). The best tressed however, easily goes to Kate Hudson's elegant braided updo, a huge step up from the sometimes overly used side braid we usually see on Lauren Conrad and foes.
Celebrity Stylist David Babaii styled this look for Hudson, wanting to create a sophisticated and flirty updo for the red carpet. To get the look, he used Living Proof Full Thickening Cream to give her fine, limp blonde hair a thicker feel. He rubbed the product between his fingers to activate the ingredients and applied from the product root to shaft. Next, he rough dried the entire head to add additional volume and created a side part. Babaii braided along the crest of her head and then pulled all the hair back into a low bun at the nape of the neck.
"Usually I am afraid to braid Kate's hair because it is so fine, but Living Proof Full Thickening Cream added the dimension and depth I needed to create this fabulous red carpet look," Babaii said.
