It's no secret that I have an affinity for the lovely sun-soaked 9th floor of Bergdorf Goodman–the John Barrett Salon. So naturally, when I heard about the advent of Barrett's Ponytail Bar, I had to book an appointment ASAP. I texted my favorite stylist Halli (yes, we have the same name, how meta!) and told her I needed to come in for the perfect pony.

I sashayed in and couldn't wait to grab an iced tea and get the sweaty hair off my neck. Once I was in Halli's chair, I flipped through the ponytail menu of celeb photographs and decided on a playful, slightly messy, high pony. Because Halli somehow always understands exactly how I want to look, she confirmed my decision and quickly started doing her thing. She began by giving my curls a quick coiff and then brushed them up and secured the initial 'do with a clear elastic. To add a little height and texture on top, she teased the hair above my forehead a bit and wrapped a blonde strand around the the ponytail to hide the band. Voilà! Donezo in about 15 minutes flat.

I took a look at Halli's handiwork and was shocked at how effortlessly cool it looked–like I wasn't trying too hard. The best part? I rocked that pony for three days! The perfect summer look for day, night, and everything in between.
