How to Style a Crown Braid
I had the pleasure of stopping by my favorite salon in NYC, John Barrett, this morning to see braid (and everything else!) extrodinaire, Halli Bivona. She gave me a quick braided crown in about five minutes flat. Here, she lays out easy steps for getting this look at home:
Step 1: Start with your natural hairthis braid looks best when loose and with a lot of texture!
Step 2: Take a triangular section from behind your ear and split it into three subsections.
Step 3: Braid the middle subsection up towards the outside of your head, adding hair as you go.
Step 4: Continue the braid all the way around your head until you run out of hair to grab, and finish off by braiding the left over hair in a standard three strand braid.
Step 5: Take the braid that is hanging down and wrap and pin it to wear you started your braid.
Tip: To make your finished look more romantic, massage your braid with your fingertips to loosen the strands and add extra volume.
Do you love this braid as much as we do?
