5-Step Runway Looks: The Trick to a Modern Pompadour at Hervé Léger

Straight hair can be a drag, especially if you have trouble with your strands falling limp and lifeless. And holding a curl? Forget about it. That's why for those who are curl-challenged we loved the hair backstage at Hervé Léger, as it was a perfect style for the majority of women who have long, straight hair and no clue what to do with it.
Lead stylist for Bumble and Bumble Neil Moodie said he wanted the hair for the show to have a sporty feel to it and was inspired by the act of a woman getting out of a swimming pool and slicking her hair back. Thus, we bring you - the modern pompadour. Take a look at the steps below to pull this look off on your own.
1. On wet hair, apply Bumble and Bumble Prep and Bumble and Bumble Styling Lotion.
2. Dry products into the hair with a blow-dryer.
3. Flat-iron the hair, but use the curve of the iron to get more of a blow-dried look with some volume rather than ironing it stick straight. To do this, bend the hair over the curve of the iron and run it through the hair, twisting your hand to curl it slightly at the ends.
4. Take the sides of the hair and brush completely back, leaving the front section of your hair free. Using Bumble and Bumble Bb. Gel take the sides of the hair as well as under the roots of the front panel of hair and apply gel.
5. Flip the front section of hair forward and backcomb the roots. Flip hair back over the top (where you just applied the gel), and secure with bobby pins underneath hair.
Take a look at the side of this style. Would you try it, or is it a little much? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
