Is there anything more entertaining on this planet than watching the production of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, which we fondly refer to as Speidi? I think not. Between his ridiculous cowboy hat and her, well, everything, these two are a perfect source of comical relief at the end of a long day. This week on The Hills however, something distracted me from Spencer's offensive black cowboy hat. It was Heidi sporting her very own version of the Lauren Conrad side braid.

Though it was a little bigger than LC's usual tightly woven French braid, a side braid it certainly was. Was this Heidi's way of saying she misses Lauren? Or is she perhaps glad she's off the show so she can finally wear her own side braid without fear of showing up to the same party with an identical hairstyle as her? We may never know.

What we do know, is how to get this look. Start with the hair that lies just above your ear and begin a tight braid that lies against your head. As you continue braiding, pick up more pieces of hair to braid in the direction you want your braid to be. If you want your braid on the left side, start braiding hair from the right and vice versa. Stop braiding approximately right above the opposite ear and secure with bobby pins.
