Get Heidi Klum's Hairstyle

This may sound a little odd, but the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is by far my favorite TV event of the year. I have been a loyal viewer for years, and not in a "let me eat ice cream all night and feel bad for myself" kind of way, but in a way that is completely mesmerized by the entire production (the glittery catwalk helps too).
Head Angel Heidi Klum pulled a fast one this year when she said she wouldn't walk after just giving birth five weeks ago to Lou Samuel but, lo and behold! There she was strutting her stuff down the runway in a fairytale-esque corset, complete with frilly tutu train. As always, Klum's hair and makeup was absolutely heavenly.
We got the chance to chat with co-owners of Patrick Melville Salon & Spa in New York City Patrick Melville and Rick Wellman, who style Klum's hair often and prepped her strands with bio-lights the week before the show. Below, they give us the products they use on Klum so you can get her look!
Melville blends a mist of Kerastase's Volumactive with Peter Hantz Styling Glaze and then blow-dries Klum's hair using a Mason Pearson brush to create the perfect combination of light volume with glossy hold.
To to get Klum's blonde hue, Wellman suggests using a less aggressive highlighting method bio-lights. This procedure uses 100 percent biodegradable cotton over aluminum foil. This Patrick Melville Salon signature technique is also a safer alternative for pregnant women, because the material used prevents color from touching the scalp and allows ammonia content in the color to dissipate.
Melville also suggests that pregnant women keep hair longer, but get trims more frequently. Pre-natal vitamins make the hair grow faster while keeping it strong. After pregnancy, when hair is more prone to shed and is often weaker, both stylists use Nioxin to stimulate new hair growth. They also gave Klum Biolustre treatments after her pregnancy to strengthen her hair's elasticity and ensure shine. Klum also has a secret remedy in her beauty ritual she always finishes her highlights or coloring with a non-peroxide glaze to keep it super shiny!
