Golden Globes 2011: Get the Look from Your Favorites on the Red Carpet

The 2011 Golden Globes started awards season off with a bang, as knockout celebs from Julia Stiles to Anne Hathaway completely dazzled us with their hair and makeup looks. Want to try to pull off a look you saw on the red carpet on your own? Read below to get the scoop from the makeup artists who created some of the most buzzed about looks of the night.
January Jones's Red Hot Makeup
"January Jones's look was all about strength," said CHANEL makeup artist Rachel Goodwin. "I wanted to go for a super strong brown and a high gloss red lip. It was very 90s supermodel meets Old Hollywood glamour."
To get the look, Goodwin prepped Jones's skin with CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate and sculpted her cheeks with Soleil Tan de CHANEL Bronzing Makeup Base. On her lids, she used a wash of champagne shadows from CHANEL Les 4 Ombres Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Liberty. Goodwin then created a strong, defined brow with the Le Sourcil de CHANEL Perfect Brows palette and applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. To get a glossy red lip instead of a matte red, Goodwin used CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Excess.
Julia Stiles's Pretty Pink Pucker

To match Julia Stiles's long, elegant black gown, CoverGirl makeup artist Jake Bailey kept her look sophisticated and sexy, but also fresh enough to be able to wear during the day.
Bailey started with NatureLuxe Silk Foundation for a flawless, glowing finish and then used a coral shimmer blush on top to give her that sun kissed tint. To get a light smoky eye, Bailey used CoverGirl LiquiLine Blast in Silver Spark with a dark, matte taupe eye shadow on the lids. Bailey then topped off the eyes with CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion.
For the lips, Bailey wanted to create a deep berry pop of color, which he got with CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Euphoria.
Anne Hathaway's Rosy Nude Makeup

"Since Anne Hathaway's dress had a strong shoulder, I wanted to make sure the makeup was approachable and feminine to allow the dress to really steal the show," said CHANEL makeup artist Kate Lee. To start, Lee used CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate to give Hathaway's skin a boost of hydration, along with NARS Pro-Prime Skin Smoothing Face Prep to help her makeup stay put. To get a dewy finish, she applied CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup and Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium to pop the cheekbones. On the eyes, Lee used CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Sand, which is a toasty rose gold. After curling the lashes and swiping with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, Lee prepped the lips with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Lip Care, blotted, then applied a coat of CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Mademoiselle. On top of that, she applied CHANEL Coco Shine in Bel Ami (hitting shelves in April 2011), which gave Hathaway's rose lips a violet tint.
Jenna Ushkowitz's Hazy Smoky Eye

"Jenna Ushkowitz had a gorgeous blue dress, so we wanted to bring some of that color into the look," said CoverGirl makeup artist Patrick deFontbrune. To get this blue smoky eye, he lined her eyes with CoverGirl Liquiline Blast in Blue Boom and applied a highlighter under her brown bone for added definition. To finish the eyes he used CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion and balanced the look out by giving her a lip color with brown undertones. To get a flesh stained lip, he used CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Fervor.
Sandra Bullock's Edgy Eyes

"Sandra Bullock and I agreed her look would be a mix between rock and roll and glamour," said CHANEL makeup artist Angela Levin. To get this look, Levin used all of the colors from the Ombres Perlees de CHANEL Eyeshadow palette, using the dark shades on the outside of the lids and working into the lightest ones on the inside. Next, she lined Bullock's eyes with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Ebene and applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. To get Bullock's nude lip, Levin used CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Chintz.
Amber Riley's Super Smoky Eye

This look is great for bringing out your eyes, says CoverGirl makeup artist Mylah Morales. She started by using CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast in Onyx Smoke, covering Riley's lids with the rounded silver end and highlighting the crease wit the black pointed end. To tie the look together, she used CoverGirl Liquiline Blast in Black Fire and lined along her water line.
Claire Danes's Flawless Face

To steal Claire Danes's radiant cheeks, Laura Mercier makeup artist Matin Maulawizada used Laura Mercier's Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic, along with Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Petal to create a rosy hue. To get the lips, he mixed Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Bonbon with Bare Beige for a neutral lip that made a statement.
Selena Gomez's Sculpted Brows

For perfectly straight, sculpted brows, celebrity makeup artist Karan Mitchell sketched them with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Ash over the brows using light, upward strokes as she filled in the brows completely. She then used the wand brush on the other end to blend the brow color through. To highlight, she used Brow Duality in Camille/Sand, starting above the iris to the end of the brow, blending with her fingertips. To make sure everything stayed put, she topped the look off with Clear Brow Gel in short, upward strokes. Bonus tip: Make sure to apply the gel in the same direction the hair grows.
Heather Morris's Gleeful Glow

There's been a lot of bad faux tanning jobs on the A-list scene lately, so when we saw Heather Morris wearing self tanner the right way, we were elated. Makeup artist Jenn Streicher helped Morris get her gorgeous glow with St. Tropez Wash Off Instant Body Lotion and St. Tropez Skin Illuminator. To get the look, exfoliate in the shower to prep and apply lotion to your arms, legs, and chest area, making sure not to dress until completely dry. Using the illuminator, highlight cheeks, arms, shins, and chest for a light shine that looks natural.
