How to Glow (Like You Just Got Engaged)

We know this word hasn't been used since, oh middle school, but mad people are getting engaged this week! Allegedly Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes got secretly engaged this week and not allegedly is the news of Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo. We can't lie, even though we love Jessica Simpson, this excites us.
Thus far at the Real Beauty offices only one of us has had the question asked of pending matrimony, but we noticed immediately after that there is a certain glow one gets when asked to spend the rest of their pretty lives with someone else. Since the rest of the staff has a little time before that question is asked, we found out some ways to get a "I just got engaged" glow, without the rock:
Exfoliate. We know we drill this daily into your heads, but it really is the fastest way to speed up a bright, radiant complexion. By sloughing off dead skin cells you leave your skin's surface with only the new, shiny cells behind. Just make sure to up your moisturizing when you do this to protect your skin against the elements.
Fight off scales with shorter showers. To rid yourself of scaly, dry skin, keep your showers in the winter short and make sure the water is warm, but not hot. When drying off, pat with a towel (especially your face) and make sure to leave some moisture on your skin to absorb your moisturizer better.
Pick a calming cream. If your face often gets red and irritated, opt for a calming lotion like Eucerin Calming Creme Daily Moisturizer. It contains anti-inflammatory ingredients to hide your redness. You want to glow like you just got engaged, not flush like your parents just walked in on your post-engagement makeout session.
