Beauty Q&A with Giuliana Rancic
Giuliana Rancic wears many hats in Hollywood: She's the co-host of E! News's Fashion Police alongside Joan Rivers and Kelly Osbourne, has starred in her own TV show Giuliana and Bill on the Style Network, and anchors E! News's red-carpet coverage opposite Ryan Seacrest. Besides having great hair (which Rancic always has), another key to looking fabulous on camera is having radiant skin, which is why Rancic is the face of DDF Skincare. While Rancic gets prepared to interview the finest big-screen celebs at the 83rd Academy Awards this Sunday, we were able to grab a few minutes to find out her go-to tips for feeling star-worthy inside and out.
Tell us what's in your makeup bag.
Giuliana Rancic: As an entertainment reporter, television personality, and long-distance wife, I have a busy schedule so I try to keep my beauty routine quick and easy. I look for multipurpose products that are long-wearing, affordable, and easy-to-use, as well as ones that are travel-friendly. My latest obsession is the DDF-Doctor's Dermatologic Formula Revolve 400X Micro-Polishing Systemit's incredible! It helps polish away my day-to-day imperfections, and makes my skin look absolutely beautiful. The results are so good, I can even simplify my makeup routine and literally skip my foundation. Some of my favorite makeup includes MAC Opulash Mascara in black, MAC Eye Kohl pencil in Smolder, MAC Eye Shadow in Bronze, MAC Lipstick in Freckletone, and LORAC Blush/Bronzer Duo in Hot and Spicy.
You're hitting the Academy Awards red carpet this weekend, sans foundation. That's such a brave move! What are you doing to get red-carpet ready?
GR: I spend a ton of time prepping my skin a few weeks prior to my red-carpet appearances, and this involves being really diligent when it comes to my skin-care routine. I also drink lots of water, exercise, and try to get at least eight hours of sleep.
So tell us more about your skin-care routine.
GR: I exfoliate twice a week with the DDF-Doctor's Dermatologic Formula Revolve 400X Micro-Polishing System. In between these treatments, I cleanse my skin daily with the same tool, but switch the head from the foam exfoliator to the cleansing brush, which I use with the DDF-Doctor's Dermatologic Formula Blemish Foaming Cleanser 6.7 oz. Then I apply an SPF moisturizer and eye creamyou've got to make sure your lids are protected from the sun, too. I also love serums, so at night I use the DDF-Doctor's Dermatologic Formula Restoring Night Serum 0.8 oz. One thing I've learned is that your PM routine is just as important as your AM routine.
What are a few key tips you can give to those want to follow in your career footsteps?
GR: Broadcast journalism is a competitive field that takes a ton of hard work and thick skin, but it's a truly amazing profession. I always suggest interning as a great way to get your foot in the door or applying to a smaller company to get hands-on experience. Also, networking with people in your desired industry can be a great resource for finding out about jobs and companies. Meeting a mentor to help guide you can take you far, too.
