Gabrielle Solis's Big Barrel Curls

She may be the tiniest housewife on Wisteria Lane, but she makes up for it in her attitude and hair! We're talking about Gaby Solis, the feisty housewife who always seems to be in the thick of the drama. After a long and somewhat painful to watch season, things finally seem to be heating up on Desperate Housewives and that includes Gaby's hairstyle.

Maybe it was the red sweater, maybe it was the intense fight on the street with Lynette, but Gaby Solis brought her hair "A" Game to the neighborhood this week. Her big barrel curls are perfect for the upcoming holiday season. Because if you can't make your extended family jealous about some aspect of your hair and makeup, what's the point of showing up to Christmas Eve dinner?

To get a look similar to Gaby's start by applying a heat protector to your hair like Nexxus Heat Protexx Heat Protection Styling Spray. Blow dry straight, as curls hold better when you start with a smooth texture. If you have thick or coarse hair, you may want to wash with a glossing conditioner to get hair as smooth as possible. After your hair is dry, give yourself a side part and using a wide barrel curling iron, wrap hair around the barrel, twisting with each rotation to get each curl kinky. Stop just above your ear at the temple and gently unwind the curl. Use a super hold hairspray like Sexy Hair Concepts Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray and coat curls entirely.

Rollers are also a faster and somewhat easier way to achieve this look, especially for those with long hair and little time to sit and curl each section separately. These Remington Ceramic Heated Clip Rollers make sure your rollers stay in while adding extra heat to give your curls a serious boost. Section off hair and put in rollers where desired for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how big you want your curls to be.
