Why we love it: When it comes to lip balm, many people swear by one of the no-frills, budget-friendly drugstore staples that have been on shelves for decades. We’re fairly certain that none of those people are beauty editors. Beauty editors are freakish about lip balm, willing to spend crazy amounts of money on a pot or tube of the stuff if they think it's really that special. Case in point: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15, which has become a cult favorite product thanks to its moisturizing, (but not gooey), blend of sugar, beeswax, blackcurrant oil, and carnauba wax, not to mention the subtle lemony scent. Last year, the brand launched the hugely successful Sugar Rose, a pink-tinted version of the original. This summer, Fresh has come out with a plum iteration, and our beauty peers are scooping up tubes of the stuff like it's liquid gold. And who can blame them? Between the genius consistency, the super-sheer color, and the SPF 15, this tinted balm is pretty perfect, even if it costs over $20.
