Emma Stone's Blonde Debut
They say blondes have more fun but even celebrities have debated this age old argument by straying from their naturally lighter locks. Born blonde celebs from Michelle Trachtenberg to Sofia Vergara and even funny girl Emma Stone are proof that a switch to the dark side can be just as sexy. Which is why we were shocked to see that Stone had taken her gorgeous auburn shade we've been swooning for this season and debuted a much brighter, blonder color at an event for The Trevor Project this past weekend. Heavy, blunt bangs and a sunny, almost platinum blonde shade made us do a double take.
Though the hair change is most likely only temporary, Stone changed it for her upcoming role in the new Spider-Man film, this can be one tricky hue to pull off, especially for the fair skinned. To master a color like this, you have to make sure your makeup matches your new look. Opt for a peach blush, which is universally flattering for most blondes like Stone does here instead of bright reds or tons of bronzer. As for the lips, keep them nude or swipe with a dab of your favorite gloss to keep your look subdued and natural.
As for the color, though you don't have to worry about the sun or ocean damaging your new shade during the winter months, you do have to think twice about what you're putting in your hair after a lighter dye job. Products with high alcohol in them will wash out your color, making your hair look dry and dull. Opt for a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner like Kevin Murphy Angel.Rinse and check your hairspray, gel, mousse, and any other styling products you use to make sure they are relatively alcohol-free.
What do you think of Emma Stone as a blonde? Do you like her lighter, or are you missing her trademark auburn shade?
