Diane Kruger's Red Carpet Knot Updo

To celebrate the release of Inglorious Basterds on DVD December 15, we get to talk about one of our favorite celebrity girl crushes, Diane Kruger. One of Europe's best-known models after an injury prematurely ended her ballerina career, Kruger made her way to the U.S., landing films like National Treasure and Troy. Along the way, she managed to snag Joshua Jackson of Fringe fame. So naturally, this is a love/hate relationship we have with Kruger for stealing Dawson Creek's Pacey away from us.
This week, Kruger was spotted at an event with a perfect holiday updo that looks complicated but is far from it! Celebrity hairstylist Richard Marin shares how you can get this hairstyle in four simple steps:
Dry hair with head tilted forward using an ionic dryer like the Remington Professional Dryer for maximum shine and volume.
Part hair to the side. Using a one-inch barrel curling iron, section hair in pieces that are 1-½ inches by 3 inches wide. Curl in one direction for a uniform wave pattern and let curls cool to set.
Brush hair out in a downward motion. Keep brush close to scalp and finger waves will form. Brush waves to one side and secure in a side ponytail.
Roll hair into a smooth bun with the ends poking out and pin into place. Finish with a touch of hairspray and some shine spray. Add a sparkly hair accessory or clip as a finishing touch!
