Backstage at NYFW: Cutler for Betsey Johnson

Known for her wild and wacky style, you can always count on Betsey Johnson to do something over-the-top for her runway showand this year was no exception! Hairstylist, Rodney Cutler for Cutler Salon, created a flying saucer-inspired look using colorful wigs—a quirky look that he admits we're likely not going to see people sporting on the street anytime soon.
But that's not to say that theatrical shapes and textures won't be able to find their place off the runway this fall. "There will be a lot of strong shape and texture this year," Cutler says. "Hair with a lot of theatrics, but that still has some glamour and beauty to it." And to get that textured look, Cutler recommends trying Redken's Powder Grip. "It gives hair lots of texture, but still allows it to breathe and move."
Will you try a more theatrical, textured style this fall?
