What better month to start than February, as Barshop shares the best ways to prep yourself for Valentine's Day, no matter what your plans are.

To me, Valentine's Day is more about looking and feeling your sexiest than anything else more Cupid related. When you're getting prepped don't forget that feeling sexy is all about pampering yourself, so don't rush through anything. Take the time and embrace it.

Nails: Manicures and pedicures should be done up to a week before (or try CND's Shellac to get that checked off your list up to two weeks before). Tip: Whatever you do, don't make the mistake of polishing hours before your date - you'll end up completely tense, with hot pink nail polish all over your textured tights.

Hair: If time and funds allow, splurge on a blowout the morning of your big night. I always feel sexier when I get my hair done - what girl doesn't? Since Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year and work may inevitably hinder your plans, amp up your morning routine with a volumizer and blow-dry hair upside down for all-day glam that will last through the night. Tip: To refresh volume before you leave the office, flip hair upside down and spritz with volumizer or your favorite hair spray.

The Rest: When putting on your makeup, accentuate your eyes by rimming them with a dark eyeliner and carefully applying false eyelashes. If you would rather emphasize your lips, try a vampy lipstain, which is less likely to smudge or end up on your teeth. Tip: Lipstains will also stay put if you happen to get that goodnight kiss.

I don't want to forget about those girls who are in long distance relationships and won't be seeing their significant other on Valentine's Day. Yes, it can be difficult, but don't let that stop you from making each other's day special. Think outside the box. Send home-baked cookies with a framed photo, or plan to make a dinner with a sexy dessert and eat it together while you Skype.
