Aw! Chanel Iman Gives Us The Warm Fuzzies With Her Self-Esteem Pep Talk

DKNY has taken holiday glitz to a new level by teaming up with jewelry designer Martin Katz to reveal the mother of all luxe perfumes. The duo has outfitted DKNY's Golden Delicious Fragrance bottle with 2,909 globally sourced jewels (including 2,700 white diamonds, 183 yellow sapphires, and 243 canary diamonds). The perfume will be sold on the DKNY Core Club Facebook Page, and proceeds will be donated to Action Against Hunger, an international organization dedicated to feeding malnourished children. To unveil such a beautiful product, the brand called upon gorgeous supermodel Chanel Iman to pose with it at DKNY's uptown Manhattan store last night. We sat down with Iman to chat about confidence, being a Victoria's Secret Angel, and what beauty goodies she adores.
Real Beauty: Now that we know how to smell like a million bucks, what are your best tips for looking like it?
Chanel Iman: Being natural is always the best way to look like a million bucks. Confidence is key. It can make you look like a billion bucks! Not cocky, but confident.
RB: What makes you feel self-assured?
CI: Having positive people around you always makes you feel confident and allows you to be yourself, which is the most beautiful thing a woman can benatural and beautiful. We are all different and unique in our own ways.
RB: Does being a Victoria's Secret Angel, perhaps, affect your confidence, especially with guys?
CI: No I don't say a thing. That's something they have to find out on their own.
RB: You were asked to pack on some pounds for the recent Victoria's Secret show. How did you do it?
CI: It's mind over matter. I did weight lifting and drank protein shakes to gain it. It didn't make me feel healthier, but it did make me feel more confident in my body, because I am naturally thin. It's hard to keep it up, but I work with the best trainer, Jana Mitrova-Castillo, at Absolute Fitness.
RB: What's your best advice for walking in high heels?
CI: One foot in front of the other.
RB: How do you pose for photos?
CI: Know your angles. I know which ones of mine work in front of the camera, and I try to have photographers catch them.
RB: How do you look well-rested when you haven't slept a wink?
CI: A lot of people have baggy eyes when they wake up, including myself. And the best way to cover it up is to put a bit of light concealer underneath yours eyes, and then rim them with a smoky, dark eye liner.
RB: If we opened your bag, what beauty goody would we always find?
CI: I am obsessed with Dior Show Mascara, because it makes my eyelashes look extra long. It's my favorite mascara, and I carry it everywhere. I just love it.
RB: Do you have any favorite haircare products?
CI: I love Moroccanoil hair oil, shampoo, and conditioner. I work with a lot of hairdressers, and my hair gets fried easily. These formulas brings back my mane's natural healthy glow and finish.
