Chadwick Bell Spring Summer 2013

I knew it was going to be a good show when Gnarles Barkleys toe tapping hit song Crazy blared through the speakers as I walked in the Studio at Lincoln Center. A mass of glamorous attendees mingled in groups while select individuals taking in the atmosphere of the preshow. In the brief moments where the songs changed from one to another, I could hear a quick rush of camera clicks coming from the photographers station at the end of the runway.
My favorite part of a fashion show is the moment right before the show begins. The plastic is peeled off the runway revealing an immaculate surface, the lights then dim followed by a bright flash of light and the show starts. Model after model sashayed down the runway in elegant pieces as I looked on in admiration. In an interesting twist, the models were directed to walk through the seated guests on the return walk. I luckily was seated in a row which allowed models to directly walk by. Getting such an up close look at the designs and delicate details was certainly a treat.
Id personally wear this collection now if I could. Perfect, flowing georgette dresses and structured pieces in intricately cut, strong cotton would amplify my wardrobe and could easily become long term favorites. Chadwick Bell knocked it out of the park with this collection and will definitely have chic ladies running to purchase come spring.
