Carrie Underwood's Wedding Day Makeup
With my sister's pending marriage next spring I have recently found myself oddly interested in something I thought I never would — a wedding. Suddenly, I've switched out my gossip blogs for bridal magazines and find myself asking my coworkers which shade of purple I should vote for when it comes to my bridesmaid dress. It's safe to say I've caught the wedding planning bug.
Though I'm excited to help my sister plan her trip down the aisle, a wave of panic hit me at her engagement party when she stated that her sister the beauty editor would be doing the entire bridal party's makeup, bride included. Oy. It's one thing to recommend a bad shade of lipstick for your sister's first date, but to be responsible for her wedding face? That's a lot of pressure!
Possibly one of the most stunning celebrity brides this year was Carrie Underwood when she wed Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher. Underwood, not surprisingly, looked like she walked right out of a fairy tale and the moment I saw her on the cover of People one thought crossed through my mind — I've got to know who did her makeup.
As if the wedding gods heard me, the next day I found out that Underwood was wearing TEMPTU AIRbrush Makeup System to keep her flawless face from melting in the hot heat on her big day. "TEMPTU helped Carrie survive the 100-degree Atlanta heat and humidity during her wedding; her makeup was flawless from beginning to end. I love it because not only does it look beautiful in person but also in pictures, and no need for touch-ups on the photos," said Melissa Schleicher, Underwood's personal makeup artist.
The best part about this magic system? It's an at-home one! Each pod contains one to two months' worth of makeup, with shades from foundation to blush and beyond. For $225 for the system and $55 for a pod of foundation I can tackle the whole bridal party without fear that I'll make everyone look like pumpkins in May. Sigh of relief all together now, whew!
