Carolina Herrera's Big Hair Moment

When Blair Waldorf first hit the small screen in 2007, the beauty world flipped for the queen bee's statement-making headbands. Then Kate Middelton came along, and we couldn't get enough of Royal Wedding-inspired toppers. And recently hair bands are making a third comeback on the red carpet and the runway.
Pro-stylist Orlando Pita deems there to be a new trend on the horizon. At the ultra-glam Carolina Herrera show, he used simple black elastic bands tied about an inch back from the hairline as a way to make the models look a bit younger. It also balanced the voluminous hairstyle (thanks to tons of teasing and Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray).
To complement such attention-grabbing tresses, Diane Kendal for MAC Cosmetics, created a fresh makeup look that consisted of contouring the models' cheekbones, a black cream eyeliner drawn on the roots of their lashes, and Spice lip pencil on their pouts. "I enhanced their features without including any color," she explains.
Nails were just as neutral. Essie "Not Just a Pretty Face"a soft, lavender huewas painted on their nails as to not clash with the bold blues and reds in the collection. The almost-sheer color did bring out some of the lavender undertones from the threads.
